Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Moeaki went back to school his first week free from the grind of the NFL. No, he wasn’t back in class at Iowa. He was sitting courtside to cheer on the Hawkeyes men’s basketball team take on Northwestern.
The impressive rookie talked to KCRG about his pretty simple goal entering his first year in the league.
“Just went into the season kind of with the hope in mind just trying to learn from the vets there, just trying to find my role on the team.”
And the biggest difference between playing at Iowa and with the Chiefs?
“You are going against unbelievable players every play. I would just say the level of competition obviously, there’s a big gap.”
Judging by the Hawkeyes slow start in the Big Ten (0-5!) they could use Moeaki’s leaping abilities on the court.
